Thor: Ragnarok [Review]

Thor: Ragnarok [Review]

Spoilers ahead!

If you have not seen it or dislike ruining it for yourself, do not read on. You have been warned.

I’m going to get all of the obvious things out of the way; yes Thor’s got a new haircut for a great part of the film. Yes, there’s two after credit scenes (watch them). Yes, it’s a funny film, you can love or hate, it’s your choice.

Now to the good stuff.

Starting with the main difference that I enjoyed, the composition and structure of Marvel’s formula was tweaked by the director Taika Waititi. In a way that did not take you away from the usual enjoyment of the marvel franchise, but definitely brings a refreshing Je ne said quoi to the mix. The soundtrack is versatile and fun to listen to and incorporates well with the style of the film.

Out of the #Thor franchise this is definitely the most fun and adventurous film, not to mention the maturity that the writers gave to Thor’s character which makes him feel like a true immortal being; being a god and all. If we look at the more technical aspects of the movie, we can see that they emulated more of a Guardian-esque style to the colors and soundtrack. I do believe that this movie is one that makes Thor’s future in the Marvel Cinematic Universe incredibly prominent.
