Thor: Ragnarok Trailer (Review)

This is how you make the audience buy you movie tickets! You throw them awesome shots from your footage, mix them with Cate Blanchett’s aura of magnificence and put Led Zeppelin’s “Immigrant Song”. As it hit on the official Marvel Studios’ YouTube channel, it immediately gained 12 million views in a few hours. People have gone crazy with this trailer, and of course, who wouldn’t?

Some have said that it might have been a little too revealing, showing Thor’s iconic hammer (Mjolnir) being destroyed by the rising goddess of death, Hela. With just one hand, as she gives a slight smirk and an evil stare, she squeezes the weapon, causing it to break and discharge an electrical storm wide open. This my friends, are just the first seconds of this video, accompanied wight he intro of the “Immigrant Song”. Some have complained about showing a bit too much of what the key parts or “surprises”. But I say there’s still so much more that we don’t know from this big blockbuster, that from the looks of it, will be the best Thor movie yet.

From the moment we heard Cate Blanchett was in for this huge villain (Hela), known to be big-baddie Thanos’ love interest, we knew Marvel had blessed itself once more with amazing talent and commitment. Have to mention that Jeff Goldblum is also in to play another villain called “Grandmaster“, who enjoys the killing of heroes on his grand arena. For the looks of it, both antagonists will be appearing on various Marvel movies coming in the next few years, causing havoc around the universe.

Also new to the cast, comes Tessa Thompson as Valkyrie, new to the cinematic universe. Returning to their roles comes Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Anthony Hopkins as all-father Odin, Tom Hiddleston as the god of mischief Loki, Idris Elba as Heimdall, Mark Ruffalo as Hulk (yes, he’s fighting Thor on the arena), Jamie Alexander as Lady Sif, among others. Even Benedict Cumberbatch’s Doctor Strange is making an appearance in the movie, but it’s not shown on the trailers YET.

Stay tuned for more reviews! Thanks for reading and hope you enjoyed this trailer as much as we did. Feel free to comment below what you thought of this trailer, if you agree or not, let us know!

There's nothing more beautiful than to share someone's world with an audience on the big screen, and nothing more fulfilling than to be able to bring a character to life. The secret is how you tell the story.
